Turf Type Fescue Sod
Turf type fescue is an attractive grass for the Cincinnati area. It has a much finer blade than previous varieties of fescue. However, it does possess much of the same drought resistance of older, courser bladed varieties. Although fescue still needs a reasonable amount of water to grow, once in place and rooted, it will usually stand up to the Cincinnati summers better than bluegrass. One advantage that bluegrass has over fescue is it has the ability to repair itself and spread back over damaged areas. Fescue sod can be laid year round.
